What we can do
Solar Thermal
Solar thermal is both clean and sustainable. It is probably the most environmentally friendly method of providing your home with hot water and heating. It is a very simple technology, but highly efficient. It can provide an cost effective and environmentally responsible substitute to conventional energy sources. Our solar thermal system can typically save you up to 70% on your annual hot water heating costs and even more on your heating costs – so it’s good for the planet (and your wallet!) Solar thermal has many benefits, such as reducing the dependence on the use of fossil fuels.
We have two main systems
The VS system provides for the hot water needs and can knock your hot water bill down to 30% of what you would be expected to pay. It is Simple to install in most properties, and provides an excellent cost saving and payback with just a few years.
The SB system is larger in scale and ambition than the VS system. In addition to the hot water requirements it can provide the full space heating requirements for the property for the bulk of the year. Many customers have acheived a vast reduction of up to 85% on their expected heating and hot water fuel bill.
Solar Thermal - How it works
Solar Thermal uses the warmth of the sun to heat your hot water and provide space heating for your property. The solar fluid/water mix inside the collectors (the solar panels) on your roof absorb the sun’s irradiance. It is then pumped to the thermal store or hot water cylinder, raising the tank to a preset temperature. An auxiliary heat source is used to top up the temperature if required.
An SB solar thermal system from Begetube can provide the complete Heating and hot water requirements of your home for the Spring, Summer and Autumn seasons. Our VS system is designed to supply the hot water requirements. As a rule it may require the use of the back up heat source to charge the thermal store or hot water cylinder, this back up will be call into use during the winter months, however the typical savings on fuel are up to 70% or more, depending on your system choice and location.
Air Source Heat Pumps
An air source heat pump (ASHP) is a low carbon, sustainable alternative to a traditional fossil fuel (oil or gas) boiler.
Oil and gas both release carbon dioxide into the atmosphere when they’re burnt, contributing to global warming (it’s estimated that gas boilers account for up to 20 per cent of air pollution in some cities). An air source heat pump is an environmentally-friendly, non-polluting replacement able to provide all the heat and hot water your home, office or commercial space needs. It works by transferring heat absorbed from the outside air (even when it’s cold) into an indoor space via a wet system (essentially a reverse refrigerator).
Swapping from an oil or gas boiler will massively reduce the carbon footprint of your home or building and it will also reduce your monthly heating bills. You will see a bigger saving if you’re swapping from an oil boiler to an ASHP than you will from a gas boiler to an ASHP.
There is a heat pump for you……
We have teamed up with Bublshop Ltd, a national distributer of LG heatpumps to provide the ideal ASHP and UFH system for your house. We design, size and deliver all you require to get up and running. Our legendary technical back up is always available should you require one of the finer points explained.
Biomass
Biomass is a renewable energy source, generated from burning wood, plants and other organic matter, such as manure or household waste. It releases carbon dioxide when burned, but considerably less than fossil fuels.
Biomass heating systems burn wood pellets, chips or logs to provide warmth in a single room or to power central heating and hot water boilers.
A stove burns logs or pellets to heat a single room – and may be fitted with a back boiler to provide water heating as well. A boiler burns logs, pellets or chips, and is connected to a central heating and hot water system. A wood-fuelled biomass boiler could save you up to £1,100 a year compared to an old electric heating system.
